JOB PURPOSE

Manages the Agile Center of Excellence team (Agile CoE) and supports the Chorus Program Board of Directors to:

  • Driving Agile approach and adoption at strategic program level, acting as an ‘internal transformation partner’ for the entire program, and managing the overall plan and approach for Agile Transformation.
  • Working in collaboration with the JMO, MTI or other external partners and Chorus Agile scrum teams to cultivate agile ways of working in Chorus at all levels.
JOB DESCRIPTION

Enable agile ways of working aligned to the overall Chorus Agile framework by:

 

Key Accountabilities 1: Standardize processes across teams & optimize utilization of program assets, including tools & resources 

    • Establish and implement Agile operating model principles, terminology, practices, and governance to be used across the organization.
    • Foster and spread the growth of Agile practices among developers by creating a space for experimentation, sharing best practices, and retrospectives, and gaining support for new ideas.
    • Identify, collect, and communicate best practices uncovered by teams within the program to provide ready solutions for their own experiments.
    • Optimize the use of assets, including tools, employees, and managers, ensuring effective support for Agile implementation.
    • Act as a force multiplier for the transformation by sharing lessons learned and best practices from multiple teams to support their journey toward high performance.
    • Leverage employee and manager expertise to influence and encourage adherence to Agile processes.

 

Key Accountabilities 2: Provide guidance and governance to move the Agile transformation forward & Measure the performance and corrections through continuous improvement efforts

    • Roll out the Agile framework and practices, track metrics, and report progress to stakeholders against established baselines or measurable indicators.
    • Monitor the Agile transformation’s progress and take corrective actions when processes or procedures require adjustment.
    • Oversee Agile Scrum teams’ progress, ensuring focus on delivering value quickly by removing obstacles at various levels (e.g., individual, team, program, and organization).
    • Facilitate workshops and sessions with JMO, MTI, other change agents to plan and execute Agile transformation initiatives at team and organizational levels.
    • Drive adoption through change management practices, conduct ongoing maturity assessments, and implement continuous improvement strategies.
    • Identify and address challenges to Agile adoption at Scrum-of-Scrum or program levels, resolving issues from both process and people perspectives in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
    • Lead by example, actively supporting teams, and making decisive interventions when process changes are resisted or overlooked.

 

Key Accountabilities 3: Subject matter experts (SMEs) to manage questions, training and complications

    • Educate, train, and demonstrate the benefits of Agile practices to Scrum team members and managers through hands-on support.
    • Build internal capability and develop an Agile community to ensure scalability and sustainability of practices.
    • Participate actively in the Agile community to share best practices and explore innovative approaches.
    • Provide continuous feedback on the Agile operating model based on prior experience and observations during ongoing implementation and coaching.

 

Key Accountabilities 4: Leadership & management

    • Provide leadership and guidance to the Agile Center of Excellence (ACoE) team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
    • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in change management, leveraging ACoE members to drive innovation and change within the organization.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Project Management, Technology, or a related field.
  • 4–6 years of experience leading Agile transformation journeys, including IT and non-IT projects.
  • Passion for and understanding of the drivers of digital disruption from both customer and organizational perspectives.
  • Demonstrated experience in driving Agile transformations from design to implementation.
  • Knowledge of technical engineering best practices (e.g., test-driven development, continuous integration, DevOps).
  • Experience in coaching and training individuals and teams in Agile concepts and practices.
  • Active involvement in the Agile community (e.g., published papers, conference speaking engagements, contributions to interest groups).
  • Proven ability to coach and mentor team members and leaders.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong ability to influence and drive change at all organizational levels
